absolution2.jpgI've just discovered Absolution Saves - a new-to-me label that's well worth checking out, as it ticks all the right green boxes and its clothes are stylish and fun.

As well as the kidswear range, there are men's and women's t-shirts, all with cool contemporary designs. All garments are designed and printed in England, sweatshop free and made with made with 100% biodegradable material, including organic cotton and super-soft bamboo. I really can't find anything bad to say about this range, only I wish it were bigger!

boys-range-full-bed.jpg
This 'bugs and leaves' duvet combo has got to be the cutest bed linen set I've ever seen, so I was delighted to learn that it's made from 100% organic cotton, too.

It's part of an outstanding collection of ethically made, organic luxury linens by LUMA organic, and even though it's meant for kids, I would quite happily come home to a scene like this every evening! The single (140 x 200cm) duvet cover costs £59.50.

Vollmond beer.jpgVollmond must be the first beer I've encountered that's not only made from entirely organic ingredients, but is biodynamic too. That latter detail makes it especially cool in my book, because that means it's only brewed during a full moon. Hooooow-wuuuuull!

Its hippy-points are clearly off the scale, but Swiss-produced Vollmond also tastes scrumptious and unusually refreshing, partly because it's brewed at an altitude of 5250 feet, which incidentally means no fungicides are needed to grow it (the pests and bugs simply die of oxygen starvation at that height). Where can you buy Vollmond and find out for yourself? In another 'first' for a beer, it's available in most good health food shops, via wholesaler Tree of Life.

abel & cole.jpgIt's amazing to think that Abel & Cole has been delivering organic fruit and veg boxes for 20 years. Back in 1988, most of the country just couldn't get enough Perrier down their gullets as they searched for the holy grail of low-fat margarine, and green issues were the last thing on anyone's mind. At least that's how I remember it.

But the organic box scheme specialist does indeed celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, and to mark they occasion it's brought out a few new and exciting offers for the chemical conscious consumer.

armoa squeeze me.jpgDescribed as being 'like play dough for adults' this little pot of stress relief would be a perfect present for the highly-strung person in your life.

AromaSqueezeMe is a doughy substance full of organic essential oils that have been shown to have a calming effect on stressed-out brains. Working on the same principle as stress balls, it's something you can use to distract yourself when the demons come out to play. It's available in two varieties: grapefruit and geranium for energy, or lavender and bergamot to chill you out.

pixel organics.jpgOrganic bedding needn't be plain and saintly white: these brilliant coloured jungle print duvet sets are great fun for cheering up kids' bedrooms but are also organic to the core.

The 'Lions, tigers and kitties, oh my!' set is one of many dazzling designs by Pixel Organics, all of which are printed with non-toxic inks using a 'low impact' process that aims to leave only the tiniest footprints! Unfortunately for us Brits, the products are still mostly limited to the US, but there are dozens of online stores that will deliver. Alternatively, you can get the full 'Lions' bed set for £290 at UK site Twenga.

santorini.jpgI've put this one in today largely so I can dream about sipping it in the gentle evening sun on a Greek Island, but also as I'm assured that it's really rather good and unusual stuff...

Mr Hatzidakis' Aidani Assyrtiko is a light white yellow, proving the good condition of the grapes, and with soft golden shades. It's a gentle, fruity wine, and is certified by DIO, the foremost Greek organic certification company. Certainly makes a change from the usual Sauvignon Blanc! £10.95 at greekstore.co.uk

bath%20robe.jpgSoft and fluffy as a cloud, this fairtrade organic cotton towelling robe will keep you warm on those epic, frozen journeys to and from the bathroom.

It's made by Gossypium, who are best known for their ethical fashion range. But they are also, I discovered, amazingly good at bath and body products, sumptuous bed linens and adorable baby clothes. The robe is available in small, medium and large sizes, unisex, and is perfect for an evening's pampering and relaxation. It's also made solely from fairly traded, organic, unbleached cotton -- so you can relax with a clear conscience! £59 from Ethical Superstore.

starbucks_cup.jpgStarbuck's has announced that it will no longer offer organic milk in its outlets as of next month.

The chain cites lack of demand for the decision, claiming that "orders of drinks made with organic milk have consistently been a small percentage of total orders," according to a spokesperson. Organic milk has been an option in Starbucks' drinks since 2001, but always at an extra charge.

Many customers did opt for organic, following news that Starbucks was injecting cows with a bovine growth hormone (rBGH) to increase milk production

planet%20carolyn%20organic.jpgPlanet Carolyn is one of a small number of crafters on Etsy who's decided to go totally organic. Everything on the site is handmade, meaning it's always a good bet for finding products that haven't been put together in sweatshops, but it's good to consider the raw materials used too, and in Carolyn's case, that's entirely earth-friendly fabrics made under fairtrade conditions. (We've extolled the virtues of organic cotton before, but if you need a quick reminder, go here!)

The t-shirt shown right was made by our organic artist 'for the love of clouds', and printed with non-toxic dyes. There's a range of other designs here, including men's styles and original artwork for your inner hippy. Namaste!

organic%20beef.jpgIn what seems to be a growing trend, ethics have come head-to-head with organics once again, as the Soil Association accuses supermarkets of under-cutting UK beef farmers and importing cheaper organic meat from abroad.

According to a new report, 'some' supermarkets are choosing to import meat for reasons of cost. Not only does this endanger farmers' security and put them off going organic, it adds a lot of extra 'meat miles' that lead to unnecessary carbon emissions. Since many choose organic food for its environmental benefits, the news will also damage customers faith in organic meat products. The Soil Association wants supermarkets to make pledges to increase the amount of produce they are willing to source from the UK in future. Customers can, of course, make the decision for themselves by checking the destination on the packet...

organic%20champagne%202.jpgYou won't want to use this fine specimen of a champagne for bucks fizz on Christmas morning (there's plenty of affordable organic fizz on the market for that!), but it would make a great bubbly for any special occasion.

Faust Carte d'Or is the top-selling champagne on the Organic Champagne website, and at £18.36, it's great value for money in the pricey world of organic bubbly.

Suitable for both vegetarians and vegans, this bone-dry organic drink has got all you'd expect in a top glass of champers: up-front, biscuity fruits, lovely mousse, crisp citrus fruits and a clean, pure finish. For the true eco-experience, why not serve it in Ecotopia's elegant recycled champagne flutes?

prickly%20little%20hedgehog.jpgThis adorable baby tee with 'prickly little hedgehog' design is just one of many charming organic pieces from UK-based website Belle and Dean.

Here, you'll find nothing but the softest, natural unbleached fabrics, printed with water-based inks - a great place for kitting out your baby's first wardrobe. Made specially for newborns, there's a range of baby grows featuring this design and many more. And for toddlers, there's a range of bigger tees. If you like the designs so much you want them all for yourself, there's a "bigger people" range for Mums and Dads.

organic%20denim.jpgSharkah Chakra is a new name in sustainable, stylish denim whose garments are made according to a rigorous fairtrade philosophy, and with a strong respect for the earth.

Available exclusively in Harvey Nicks, this is the first completely organic and fairtrade denim range I'm aware of in the luxury end of the market. No stone has been left unturned in putting the garments together and each pair of jeans is decorated with buttons made from 9-carat part recycled gold plating. The organic cotton is dyed using natural Indigo using a method dating back thousands of years, and is then woven by hand making for one unique and very swanky pair of jeans. The jeans are available in men's and women's styles, and come in at a surprisingly reasonable £195.

organic%20mulled%20wine.jpgMulled wine is one of the best things about Christmas in my book *hic* and the Black Cat site is a fittingly charming place to buy scrumptious organic mulling spices.

Based in West Sussex, Black Cat is a one-woman business owned by Austrian-born Catherine Kubillus, whose mother taught her the secrets of spicing hot wine and gingerbread. She also sells the gingerbread making kit complete with cookie-cutters as well as all the spices you'll need here. Everything you'll find here is organic.
