I've been trying out a range of products by Africology this week: they're new to the UK, and their sales benefit good causes as well as your skin.
All products in the range contain natural ingredients with anti-aging properties are fragranced using essential oils, not synthetic perfurmes. I was biased towards several of these products alredy, mostly because several of them contain neroli, my absolute favourite essential oil, which is native to Africa. The marula skin conditioning body oil, for example, is absolutely heavenly, and a real treat for skin that's looking a bit tired. Seemed to work a treat on my dreaded mosquito bites, too!

It may be August but Origins has got its thinking cap on, and come up with some December treats that will excite you now! Last year they asked you guys to knit for charity, and they want you to continue the trend this year! £1 from every Ginger Essence bottle sold will go straight to Shelter, and you'll feel good about yourself to boot. And did I mention that a couple of high profile designers have also got involved?

It's become my mission to test out every single organic facewash going (hey, we all need an ambition in life) and am happy to say that people seem eager to aid me in this quest. This week, I was sent a sample of Purely organic lavender and palmarosa face wash by Edible Beauty, and have just put it through the 'mascara test' to see how well it copes with removing makeup.
My verdict: this is a natural cleanser containing no parabes or SLS, so I was impressed with how quickly it lathered up. The scent is fresh and floral, and as soon as it hits the skin, you can tell it's a very mild product.

Lots of face creams on sale around this time of year have UVA and UVB sun filters built in, which is great if you've got sensitive fair skin, like me. But in my experience these also tend to be made by the more chemically laden brands.
This is why I now swear by this little pink pot of goodness by Trevano. Its (100%) Organic Day Cream is light enough to wear comfortably in the heat, and contains added vitamin E and titanium dioxide, a natural mineral that reflects the sun's rays. It's not too pricey either: £11.55 at Edible Beauty.

I always felt there was something sinister going on in those nail parlours that are cropping up all over the place; and I'm not just talking about the disturbing designs they like to paint on women's oversized talons! No, I'm refering to the smell, that waft of chemical wrongness that hits you in the face every time you walk past one.
And it seems I was on to something, because health experts have pointed an 'accusing finger' at nail bars this week, claiming they are risking the health of their customers by using a range of unregulated, harmful chemicals...

Apologies to any gentlemen present, but I was so charmed by this neat little ladybird 'tetra pouch' that I just had to share it here: it's designed to be just the right shape and size to fit your mooncup or other 'menstrual keeper' (when clean!!).
Maker Lovealittle, a UK-based Etsy seller adds: "if you are not a Mooncup user this little pouch could store fresh panties, tampons or any other little bits and pieces you like. it would be an attractive gift wrap and is quirky and fun." Quirky is certainly the word, and I like it.

Yes, I know we're a long way from munching those pork pies and making out under the mistletoe, but that's no reason not to get excited by what natural beauty favourite Burt's Bees have to offer. They have five Christmas sets, and each one is choc full of exciting products.
There's also a lovely looking tin quartet (pictured) which has four cute tins containing some of the most famous products, the Beeswax Lip Balm Tin, Res-Q Ointment, Cuticle Crème and Hand Salve. This will retail for £10.99
