WIN new eco it-bags with Hippyshopper and Catwalk Queen

little%20sister.jpgAfter yesterday's news on the forthcoming plastic bag bill, it's time to start thinking more seriously about carrying a shopping bag with you at all times. Not convinced? Just imagine your dismay at spotting an object of desire in a shop window and having nothing to carry it home in! Doesn't bear thinking about, does it...

So to make sure you've always got somewhere to put your shopping, we've joined forces with Catwalk Queen to give away some of the hottest new eco totes out there. Made by underground label Little Sister, the silk-screen printed pen-and-ink designs on these organic, fairtrade totes are already appearing on the arms of ethical fashionistas in the know. We all know what happens when a bag makes it big, so to be there at the beginning, simply send us an email with the subject header "Little Sister" and you name and postal address. Good luck!

WIN a veggie Christmas hamper from Redwood!

redwood%20vegetarian%20food.jpgIf you're vegetarian, have you thought about Christmas dinner yet? I always find it such a pain to identify anything suitably festive to go with the trimmings, and there's no way I'm rustling up a nut roast while the rest of the family open their presents and get merry on bucks fizz...

With that in mind, Redwood Foods can help. They're offering you the chance to win a celebration roast hamper - a kinder, more ethical alternative to turkey - which is suitable for vegetarians AND vegans and packed full of mouth-watering Christmas treats. You can sit back and relax on Christmas morning with this hamper, as it comes with ready-sliced turkey style roast, with delicious Vegi-Deli gourmet sausages wrapped in Redwood’s award-winning Streaky-Style Vegetarian Rashers and mouthwatering turkey flavour gravy. Free from animal ingredients, lactose, cholesterol, hydrogenated fats, GMOs and artificial colours/preservatives.

Sounds good? To enter, simply email me with the subject header "ho ho ho"

Green%20is%20the%20New%20Blaaaaaack%20Strapline%20%282%29.jpg

If you're a budding fashionista and want to keep it ethical, Daisy Mae the sheep (don't ask) wants to tell you about a good opportunity to get on to that crucial first rung. Some of the UK's hottest eco fashion labels have clubbed together to give young people (which, in this case means those aged 18-30) the chance to develop a brand new ethical fashion line for an existing, successful business. Taking part are Ciel, Enamore and Junky, who along with six others will act as judges and mentors.

Opening for entries today, Make Your Mark in Fashion will challenge you to tackle every aspect of a successful collection, from creative design and manufacture through to retail. Follow the jump for details of the labels taking part and how to enter.

WIN a £60 Florame beauty detox set from Florame

florame.jpgThere are all sorts of reasons to avoid obscure chemical ingredients in cosmetics; not least that nobody can be sure exactly of their impact on our bodies. What we do know is that many of these substances are absorbed and stay beneath the skin for some time after use, and the jury's out on whether this could cause harm to our long-term health, as well as that of the planet when the products are disposed of. For many, that's not a risk worth taking.

Happily, there are now plenty of options available that use only natural ingredients we have used and understood for generations. One such range is made by Florame, and we've got a goodie bag worth over £60 of their new organic DermaStress products for you to try. This anti-aging range range contains an exclusive compound of essential oils capable of naturally preventing skin stress – one of the principle contributors to the ageing process.

Details of the prizes are after the jump...

A year's supply of Biobags: winners and a FREE reader offer

brown%20bin%20dg.jpgLast month, Hippyshopper's Jonathan Kalmus tested Biobags, an eco-friendly alternative to black bin bags, and was so impressed that we decided to team up with Bin Liners Direct to offer a year's supply of the bags to three lucky winners. We can now tell you that the readers selected to receive the prize are:

Emma Dawes of Chester
Trevor Corbitt of Middlesborough
Cheryl Pasquier of Hastings

Bin bags are an annoying thing to have to buy, so that's one task that these three won't have to worry about for a whole year! And they'll be saving the earth from a whole lot of plastic waste too, as BioBags are 100% biodegradable & compostable which break down when using conventional composting methods to water, CO2 & compost in 45 days.
