This is something a lot of us wouldn't have seen coming. American fast-food chain McDonald's, known for their ability to satisfy hungry meat-eaters, is reportedly to open its first ever vegetarian only outlets. Where? In two Indian pilgrimage centres.

India is as we know known for holding cows sacred and beef eating is taboo. So what is a global brand looking to expand further to do? It adapts. And this is what McDonald's is now doing. Currently the Indian McDonald's restaurants are selling chicken patties and a selection of vegetarian meals, including Paneer patties. But now, the US chain is leaving its signature item on the shelves to fully embrace the culture of India and Hindus.
The new veggie McDonald's outlets are due to open next year in the city of Amritsar and the small town of Katra.
Can we have some McD veggie only restaurants in the UK too please? This way we might be interested in going to one...
