CES 2010: iPhone solar charger from Novothink

Novothink.jpgThere were loads of iPhone solar chargers at CES this year but this is one from Novothink is probably the best. It fits snugly on to your phone and can deliver thirty minutes of power for two hours of charging. It doesn't have to be connected to the iPhone to charge and if the sun isn't playing you can charge it up via USB.

It goes on sale soon in Europe including the UK, for 80 (not 8 as it says in the video) Euros. It comes with a free app that works out how much you need to use the sun to charge the battery depending on where in the world you are. See video after the turn.

When will this start to sell in US? I love it!

This is something to look forward too. I also have the same question, when will this be available in the US market. Can I order even if I am not from UK?

I spoke with Novothink at CES, they will be bringing this to the US, as well as a few other resellers in late February 2010. I recently found a US site that seems to be carrying this to, www.iPhoneSolarCharger.com

Hopefully this helps.

The Surge for touch is available now. I have three solar chargers but this one by far is my favorite even though it's only for one device.

I was at CES this year and looked at a lot of the iphone solar charger. Most of them looked cheap or had wires (why have wires on wireless devices?) I believe that this iphone solar charger is the first Apple certified solar charger. Looking forward to getting one when it is released?
