Walletpop tipped me off to a great new service today that lets you swap your old clothes and accessories online and without having to attend any of those ghastly 'swishing' parties. OK, I'm sure many such events are fabulous, but this idea sounds a lot less effort to me, while I'm still doing my winter recluse thing...
Covert Candy is a 'trading platform' similar to Freecycle but entirely dedicated to fashion. I can't help noticing that a hefty proportion of unwanted garments currently on the site are made by Primark, which ought to be a lesson in itself to the impulse shoppers who are bound to be attracted to a service like this! But there are some gems to be found too, including this tattoo-print t-shirt I spotted earlier.

There's a dress on the site from Primark that was worn once! What people don't seem to realise is that an ethical dress, bought for £100 and worn repeatedly is far better value than a dress from sweatshop primark worn once or twice.
The variety of stuff seems to be getting better and better on covertcandy.
Im spotting more and more cool stuff.
The emphasis on the site seems to be the clothing and the people and not earning money. (its all free of course)
so this does figure....
