Premier Inn have opened what they claim is 'Britain's greenest hotel', in Tamworth. The Carbon Trust have given them the thumbs up. My only quibble: what about how most guests will be arriving there?

Tate & Lyall switched to 100% fairtrade for its table sugar earlier in the year, but has now converted all of its cooking sugars, too. Sweet!
