A while ago I was persuaded to try using mineral makeup, and was really quite chuffed with the results. But as someone who has shunned powder for most of her adult life, had to hunt around for suitable brushes to apply the makeup. I made do with the cheap, plastic sort you find in chemist's shops for a while, but recently I found out about a new range of 'beauty tools' that are not only fab quality, but are made from eco-friendly materials, too. Ecotools, which have recently landed over here from the States, are made from good stuff like bamboo, and perform remarkably well.

I was certainly impressed with the texture and quality of the brush I tested, which I used to apply mineral foundation. It felt soft but firm, and there certainly weren't any stray or spiky bristles. The bristles themselves are, of course, 100% synthetic and cruelty-free, which doesn't make them scratchy - it just makes them not made out of a badger. Bonus!
Ecotools products are currently available in Tesco and selected Superdrug stores, and are surprisingly inexpensive: the powder brush I tried costs £8.49. You can browse the range here.
