HEALTH & BEAUTY: Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup
I'm already a big fan of Urban Decay, thanks to their outstanding commitment to animal welfare, and of course their strong, dazzling colours. And now they've brought out a minerals range as well as greening up their packaging, they're hitting my eco-friendly radar as well.
Surreal Skin is the name they've picked for their new mineral foundation; a light covering base with a subtle shimmer. Kiss and Makeup's Zara gave it a go, and liked the fact that when you rub it in you can layer on the makeup for a deeper look, and it has a very nice finish, with smallish shiny particles that are light reflective.

The particles sit on the skin and give it a subtle sheen which looks very attractive when pared with a rosy blush. And then we get to the packaging- sleek and simple, with an included powder puff that's used for application. This is the part you'll either love or hate, and I'm strictly in the positive crowd. Depending on how firmly you press it different amounts of powder fall out and then you can use it to rub the powder into your skin.
Because of close proximity from puff to skin, this probably isn't good for sharing (hygiene reasons). It comes in 8 shades, which should give everyone something that will suit them and costs £17 from Look Fantastic. It's talc and oil free, but you do have titanium dioxide in the ingredients which provides the colour. That's OK though, as it doesn't irritate the skin.
I'm definitely adding this little beauty to my after-the-gym makeup bag, and who knows, it might even make an airing in my everyday kit...
