'Number 3, plant a tree'. Now bingo goes green!?

green_bingo.jpgEveryone wants to be green these days, but there are some concepts it sits with more uneasily than others. Barbie's flirtation with the environment is one example that doesn't quite cut the mustard, and now another I'm finding trouble getting my head around is 'green online bingo'. We're a liberal-minded website though, so let's have a serious, unprejudiced look at why the game that's been re-branded more than any other is now taking on an environmental image. Read on after the jump to find out the deal...

All Bingo Club has launched a series of "environmentally friendly bingo promotions", intended to raise awareness of environmental issues, while still offering visitors to the site a great time playing bingo. They're doing this by way of a tree-planting scheme, so that for every new player that joins 'All Bingo Club' enough trees will be planted to cancel out the approx. 135kg of CO2 an average PC generates in a year.

As far as I know, this is the first such scheme relating to a Bingo site on the internet. So, if there are any closet Bingo-players reading, I see no harm in joining this site.
