FRIDAY QUESTION: Which organic products taste better?

Comments (7)

organic weetabix.gifWe can't all be nutrition scientists, so claims about organic food actually being better for us are best left to the experts, and read with interest whenever they emerge. But what about the taste? We can all have an opinion on that...for example, following a last minute decision at the checkout earlier this week I now know that organic Weetabix tastes massively better than the original sort which I've been eating all my life.

On the other hand, I am slightly embarrassed to admit that the same supermarket's organic and non-organic humous taste very different from each other too: and I happen to prefer the standard sort. Oh noes!

This begs an interesting question that I thought I'd put to you all on a Friday: which foods do you think taste better when they're organic, and are there some cases where you'd secretly prefer to buy the full-pesticide equivalents? Reply below with your thoughts...

I can't say that I'd buy organic because it's better for the environment but I do see it as a luxury that I afford myself every now and then.

Organic milk tastes no different to me but fruit and veg is better when organic - raspberries particularly.

Never tried the organic Weetabix but I rather ODed on the straight ones years ago when I bought a 48 pack just to get the free toy. My mum wouldn't buy any more cereal until I ate the lot. She folded after around 30 but I got the point, and as far as the 'Bix go, I'm scarred.

Oh I think organic milk definitely tastes better than the regular kind...perhaps more creamy?! Organic juices usually taste much nicer than the regular sort too. And organic chocolate..mmmmm

I do tend to associate organic produce - or more accurately the prices that come with it - as something of a bourgeois luxury.

As a result I probably haven't tried as much of it as I should have, but I went for Tesco's organic apples recently and they tasted mighty fine.

Free range organic eggs wins hands down. Nothing compares.

I'd like to say fruit and veg as well but doubt that I'd pass a blind taste test on that.

When it comes to sweets and treats, as many chemicals as required is alright by me.

I can't say I delve in organic products much, but organic marmalade sure is yum.

An organic yay for carrots - nothing beats the taste. I find organic yogurt tastes better too. Apples don't taste any different - buying them in season is what makes the taste difference.

But as for coffee that my hubby drinks, try as I might with all sorts of temptations I can't get him away from Lidls.
Some organic soups are questionable on taste too. Am I allowed to say the word Heinz?!

This is very nice blog it give us lot of information and interesting post.
