Driving tests to assess green car skills
You'd think the last thing on most young drivers' minds would be saving the planet, but a new version of the UK driving test will soon force them to think as much about vehicle emissions as it will parallel parking and hill-starts.
According to the Department for Transport, soon every driving test will finish not only with a pass or fail but also with an assessment of a driver's eco-friendliness. Applicants won't fail if their green credentials are not up to scratch but they'll certainly be told how to improve. [Via Sky News]
