Save cash and the planet with Friends of the Earth
In an age of hybrid sports cars, chichi organic delis and eco-chic fashion, it's easy to get into the mindset that being green is a luxury that only a privilidged few can enjoy.
But now the term 'credit crunch' has made it into the OED, we're all starting to take this money-saving lark a bit more seriously -- and it's more important than ever to remember that before it was cool to go green, people did so at very little expense. Now, a new book from Friends of the Earth aims to bring us all back down to earth...
Related: Is the credit crunch making you less green?
This great new book from Friends of the Earth is full of advice on green living on a budget, and reminds how greenness and frugality are often far from incompatible. In fact, after leafing through a few pages, you'll be baffled at how you were ever fooled into believing otherwise: the simple truth is that adopting various eco-friendly lifestyle changes will save you hundreds, if not thousands of pounds a year.
A very timely book that we could all do with investing in! Buy it online at the FOE bookshop. If your budget can't stretch even to the £10.50 pricetag, you might well want to check out Bean Sprouts Blog which is the best free online resource I know for frugal eco-friendly living.

Great review, and thinking about it it does ring true. It's no secret that going organic can get a bit pricey, but being eco-minded can also mean using things more sparingly, or re-using items that might otherwise have been thrown away.
