Origins gets its charity hat on again

Design scarf.jpg

It may be August but Origins has got its thinking cap on, and come up with some December treats that will excite you now! Last year they asked you guys to knit for charity, and they want you to continue the trend this year! £1 from every Ginger Essence bottle sold will go straight to Shelter, and you'll feel good about yourself to boot. And did I mention that a couple of high profile designers have also got involved?

To help you get creative 8 designers have risen to the challenge and created 8 sumptuous mini scarves and 8 regular sized ones. I love Paul Costello's creation and think the Alice Temperley version on is really lovely . You'll be able to bid on these by a silent auction by emailing Origins from November.

The designers on offer are Paul Costello, Amanda Wakely, Bruce Oldfield, Marigay McKee, Julian McDonald, Louise, Kennedy, Jenny Packham and Alice Temperley. Hopefully they'll inspire you to come up with something suitably exciting yourself, and it's a good chance to dust off those knitting needles.

You can start sending in your homemade scarves NOW and here's what you have to do.

-Choose your favourite Christmas themed wool (red, green or gold) - the brighter the better and get your knitting needles ready.
- Start by stitching across for four and then knit 40 rows down.
- Make your scarf stand out by adding your own personal touch - with glitter, tassels, patterns etc.
- Once your scarf is ready pop it in the post addressed to: Origins Ginger Knits, 73 Grosvenor Street, London, W1K 3BQ.

Have Fun!
