Pick of the best green search engines

The-Best-Green-Search-Engines.gif

Treehugger has posted a really comprehensive listing of all the search engines that help the environment in some way (or claim to -- even our old friend Blackle is here, despite being all but laughed off the internet a year ago.

I'd suggest bookmarking this list and testing out a few of these tools. Read on to find out more.

The search engines are split into three categories: 'do-good' engines (those that donate a portion of their revenue to charity, such as Ecosearch); Green network search engines such as Ecoseek (which filters results according to their greenness, so will be useful when you next want to track down a pair of hemp trainers or book and eco holiday); and other green innovations, such as offset sites (Ecocho is my favourite, as it can limit to UK sites.

It is vital the all the best green search engines offset their search activity. Carbonoffsets buying means the search really is greener.
