peopleTree-Boyfriend-Trouser.jpgIf your bookmarks folder is starting to groan under the weight of too many links, there's nothing like a brand new directory for getting everything you need together in one place. And Easy Ethical Fashion is a useful listings guide with all the eco clothing links you'll need, all completely up-to-date.

Like all good eco-sites, this one has taken everything into consideration that you might think about when choosing ethical gear: its recommendations are either locally sourced, fair-trade, organic, recycled, compostable or sustainable packaged - and in some cases, all of the above.

vintage_lingerie.jpgIf you're looking for sexy, stylish and sustainable lingerie, I've just made a discovery that may just get your week started with a bang!

The wonderfully-named Clare Bare is a Brooklyn designer who makes one-off pieces using vintage fabrics, and uses organic cotton wherever new material is required. The result is a fabulous collection of eco underwear that's slightly retro-looking and sits on the tastefully pretty side of sexy, featuring items like this cute halter-neck bra top. It's also a lot cheaper than rival ranges - and that's not just because of the US/UK exchange rates, although let's face it - they do help!

Shoes don't get much hippier than this: indie footwear label Komodo Shoes have created these cheerful canvas sneakers to show their support for the Free Tibet campaign, a cause they've been championing for many years.

20% off every pair of the distinctive shoes will go towards the campaign, which calls for an end to Chinese occupation of Tibet, and for improved human rights in the troubled region. The shoes are available exclusively through the Natural Shoe Store, priced at £40.

barbeque2.jpgHere in London, we've been promised perfect barbeque weather this weekend, and I for one will be out in the garden, setting fire to things. Being a veggie with several vegan friends makes this slightly more complicated affair than it otherwise might be, but I think it can also be a lot more fun when you're forced to be creative with your cooking. So I've been scouring the web for tasty meat-free, outdoor cuisine, and am really excited by what I've found.

Whether or not you normally eat meat, why not check out some of these recipes? You're bound to impress your guests when you offer them something that differs from the usual discount burgers and bangers.

Follow the jump for the recipes and please send me more ideas!

energenie.jpgNot another one, I hear you cry. But let's take a look at the latest standby- busting gadget, the Energenie, and see how it compares with its many rivals.

One advantage if you're a scatterbrain like me is that the Energenie works automatically, with no need for a remote control. In fact, it's perfect for forgetful types, as once installed, the Energenie lets you put your laptop, TV or stereo into standby mode just as you've always done, then cuts in to turn it into 'off' mode. Magic! It's also a lot cheaper than many similar gadgets, costing just £12.99.

bulldog.jpgAs a guy (I would imagine) it's not easy to get hold of natural and paraben-free grooming products. So I was happy to see that Bulldog is expanding its range with six new skincare products for men.

The news is especially good for guys with skin conditions, as the new additions include a specialist skincare range for sensitive skin. There's also an exfoliating face scrub, and an invigorating new shower gel. Like all existing Bulldog products, they do not contain any parabens, sodium laureth sulfate, artificial colours or synthetic fragrances.

organic stereo mens.jpgRemember the funky, Brighton-based label Organic Stereo that I raved about back when it was new in the spring? Well, now's your chance to kit yourself out with their funky threads for less, as they've just announced they're selling all items at a 25% discount.

Choose from lightweight, organic cotton jerseys and close-fitting tees, floaty smock tops and tunics, all made using interestingly sustainable methods that you can find out more about on the site.

gladys cardi.jpgThe idea of donning an item like this in our current heatwave conditions is almost unthinkable, but come October, you'll be dying to get cosy with some comforting wooly wearables.

Lovely sustainable knitwear label Keep & Share are already on to it, with a fun weekend programme of crafty autumnal activities, culminating in your own Gladys cardi like this one pictured, as well as a celebratory meal at the local village pub! Beginners' knitting workshops will be held at the label's Hertfordshire HQ during National Knitting Week. [via Crafty Crafty]

shinzi_katoh.jpgShinzi Katoh has been making cute, whimsical tote bags for a while now, but now the kooky label has branched out, transfering its designs to water bottles and lunchboxes, allowing you to store and save food and avoid the waste and expense of bottled water when you're on the go.

And today, we've got two lovely prizes to give away from Shinzi Katoh: a 'what is that on your head' water bottle and a lovely red and blue lunchbox, just in time for stashing away in the 'back to school' cupboard!

sale_adili.jpgThe Adili summer sale is always a great place to pick up an eco bargain for those of us who want to do our bit and avoid mass-produced high street clothing but can't always afford to put our money where our mouth is.

There were already some fantastic bargains on offer, but I've just heard that the eco chic superstore has now slashed its prices even further, and is offering up to 50% off items in all categories. My favourite sale finds so far have been these lovely Fly Away flip-flops by Patagonia (down to £28), this half price 'Galaxy' t-shirt by Edun and People Tree's Mali ball felt necklace, now down to a tenner.

pure_dab_radio.jpgSince launching their first 'green' radio back in March, the guys at PURE have been hard at work bringing their other products up to Energy Saving Trust efficiency standards, and have managed to get seven of their models well within the trust's strict guidelines for eco-friendliness. They've also launched their first pink radio, but don't worry -- the 'Mini' does also come in white and black...

As a bit of a radio nut, I've talked before about the benefits of digital radio versus analogue. But sadly, the technology can require more electricity if no effort is made to push for efficiency. Read on to find out what PURE have done to address this issue.

Neals Yard Remedies has really branched out lately, with some great new additions to its ever-wholesome range. And if it's a bit of firming and toning in the leg region you're after, you can now get it beautifully packaged in one of NYR's signature blue bottles.

Zingy grapefruit and juniper are the main ingredients in the new hip and thing gel, which is formulated to combat cellulite. You can get it for £25 at the Neal's Yard site. And did you know that Neal's Yard was the first ever fully carbon neutral company in the UK? They've cerrtainly kept that one quiet, along with the impressive work they are doing to make their bottles recyclable, source all their ingredients in the UK and have partnerships with several good causes. Look out for a small explosion of more new products coming soon!

flight_of_the_conchords.jpgI can't find a lot of detail on exactly how 'eco-friendly' this mousemat really is, but it slips in just because it's got the Flight of the Conchords boys on it.

The site tells me it's made from 'recycled rubber' which sounds good enough to me. Pick one up for $9.99 (under a fiver for us Brets *ahem* BRITS) at the HBO store, which also sells a rather fetching organic Conchords t-shirt.

moa_the_green_balm.jpgI'm always a bit suspicious about products that call themselves 'all purpose', so I raised an eyebrow when I was handed a leaflet about Moa the Green Balm, a 'miracle' potion from Iceland that claims all kinds of amazing skin benefits.

Moa is essentially an organic, herbal balm that is aimed particularly at those with dry skin, but its uses are listed as relieving everything from minor burns to frostbite, which is pretty unusual for something you'd find in the beauty counter.

organic_chicken.jpgIf you thought organic food was purely the preserve of holier-than-thou law abiding types, think again. With food prices spiraling out of control and families struggling to cover the cost of anything more nutritious than budget pork pie, pricey organic produce has become a prime target for thieves.

The food crisis has already prompted concern that crime rates may rise, and sure enough, a 'surge in shoplifting' has forced many supermarkets to put electronic tags on organic chicken and expensive cuts of meat. Tesco is one chain to have introduced tagging, and organic lines were the first in line for extra security. So next time you see someone running for the exits with a healthy looking corn-fed chicken stuffed up their jacket, don't bother running after them...
