Samsung 'twice as green' in twin handset launch
Samsung is clearly hoping to out-do Nokia in the eco stakes, with the launch of not one but two 'greener' mobile phone handsets, both unveiled at the World IT Show in Korea.
Its new W510 model is made of corn-based, bioplastic, contains no heavy metals and is covered in a non-toxic, water-based coating. Even greener still is the F268, which also has the benefit of not containing any BFRs (brominated flame retardants) or PVC. The latter also meets Energy Star requirements and comes equipped with an alarm to alert you when the battery is full and encourages you to unplug the charger afterwards. A great idea for those in the habit of sleeping through the charging process... [Via Alternative Consumer]
