Want ethical socks? Get a granny to knit them
We've all heard of child labour - which is obviously bad and wrong - but geriatric labour, it seems, is all the rage for conscientious types!
So, if you're concerned that your 'ten for a fiver' highstreet socks came straight from a sweatshop, you can now employ 'grannies' to knit them for you via Net Granny, a Swiss-based site specialising in wholesome, homespun socks. There's even a gallery introducing you to each granny and allowing you to pick who you want making your socks. Each pair costs 27.50 Euro.
