Stumbleupon to turn thumbs into trees on Earth Day
Do you use stumbleupon? If so, you can skip straight to the bit after the jump, and await further instructions.
If not, all you need to know is that it's a rather nifty internet tool that we all swear by here at Shiny Towers. You install a toolbar, which sits discreetly in your browser, tell it what your interests are and it generates sites it thinks you'll like via a 'stumble button'. Some of the time, Stumbleupon gets it absolutely right, and you can confirm this by clicking a 'thumbs up' button. Other times, it misses the mark completely and gives you a site you wouldn't be seen dead reading. That's right: you let it know with a 'thumbs down'. So how will all this help the environment?

On Earth Day (22nd April), Stumbleupon will be turning your clicks into trees, so if you've not used the tool for a while, get stumbling next tuesday and give plenty of thumbs up to sites that do good in the world like, I dunno...treehugger, Ecofriend and of course hippyshopper! Alternatively, you could 'boycott' a few sites of companies you object to on ethical grounds by giving them the thumbs down. Either way, you'll be doing the world a favour!
