New fairtrade jewellery line from LeJu

leju2.jpgI wrote about Leju, and their elephant-friendly 'vegetable ivory' designs earlier on in the year, and now, the nascent label has a brand new jewellery collection for you to check out.

All of the items are produced by the same three Colombian girls originally trained up by founders Lenny Trines and Juan Munoz, who embarked on their South American dream in October 2007. It's exciting to see what they've come up with in this time, and I'm certainly not disappointed by the results, which are colourful, bold and perfect for summer wearing.

The overall aim of the project, say the two designers, is to help people in Colombia develop their skills and secure a steady income. They will also be able to use their workshop in London to work on new ideas for future designs and to refine their service to their ever-growing customer base. You can see the 2008 collection here.
