Green April fools abound in eco aware times
This one's perhaps more for our American readers, some of whom are still waking up to a morning of pranks and silliness. But it's gone midday here, so it's all business as usual and it falls to us Brits to de-bunk the terrifying rumour that the internet is being shut down for an hour to 'monitor the environmental impact' are, of course, complete hokum.
As, I'm sad to report, was the BBC's flock of flying penguins. As a huge fan of the black and white birds, I'd love for them to migrate here in winter!
Elsewhere, it's depressing to see global warming being put forward as 'the greatest con of all time' as a response to an April 1st list of Top 10 Historical Hoaxes from the Times; (the list itself is actually very funny).
Finally, our own reporting of the World's First person-powered keyboard was, of course, our little joke. One particular Shiny Media employee fell for it, but their identity will remain a secret (they are not a member of the technology team!)
