Exercise in eco-friendly safety with LED headlight shoes
Running is probably one of the cheapest and most environmentally sound way of keeping fit, but some wintry morning and dark afternoons can put you off or make you feel unsafe. You could carry a torch, but if this concept were put into practice, you'd no longer have to; you'd also be helping the environment by avoiding disposable batteries.
Developing an idea seen in those 90s trainers with hell lights, the LED would be powered not by a flat battery but by your own kinetic energy production and give you five foot of light ahead and a green taillight in the back. Sounds handy; now to work out if it's financial and scientifically viable to develop!
