Eco-friendly air purifying light bulb isn't an April Fool
This has apparently been around for a while, but what with yesterday being the 1st of April, there's still a little lingering suspicion hanging around Shiny Towers. However, the Viatec ionic CFL bulb is both genuine and eco friendly, using 15 watts to produce 60 watts of light. The 'ionic' bit apparently purifies the air by generating negative ions which attach themselves to pollutants. The bit that made me think of fools was the suggestion that this somehow forces particles to drop to the floor, where they're easily vacuumed up. Hmm.
