Save water with a Hippo in your cistern

Um... Apart from using plastic composites and costing £7.99, how is this different from the old low-tech "brick in the cistern"?

My thoughts exactly, Shadowduck. I think the idea of putting something in the cistern to use less water is good, but the problem with the Hippo is that it is still supporting the plastic manufacturing business. I cut an empty drink bottle in half and used that. The Hippo just doesn't really fit the reduce-reuse-recycle mantra very well. It seems to help towards one problem by exacerbating another.
