I think the idea of putting something in the cistern to use less water is good, but the problem with the Hippo is that it is still supporting the plastic manufacturing business. I cut an empty drink bottle in half and used that. The Hippo just doesn't really fit the reduce-reuse-recycle mantra very well. It seems to help towards one problem by exacerbating another.
