There's a metric shitload of 'energy monitoring' devices on the market at present, but this one's a bit different, as it actually lets you control your energy output at work or at home.
The Ewgeco energy management system gives you a really clear picture of the amount of electricity, water and gas you're guzzling both in real-time and over-time, enabling you to take the action required to have control over your utility bills. This is obviously great for your finances, but the environmental rewards are definitely worth considering too. The carbon trust has speculated that it could reduce emissions by up to 20% if people are more aware of what they're using.
Personally, I'm quite mesmorised by the pretty lights on the visual display, which represent electricity, gas and water respectively. With one of these installed in my hallway, I think I'd find it very difficult not to keep a constant eye on my emissions! awesome! do you know of a US equivalent?
