Recycled 'modular' scarf by Galya Rosenfeld
I love the tessellating, jigsaw-like quality of this scarf by designer Galya Rosenfeld.
Although the scarf is a great example of top class tailoring, there are no virgin materials used used here: it's made of reclaimed ultrasuede, a by-product of the textile industry which is soft to the touch yet tough.
Works of art in their own right, Galya's pieces sit occupy the border between fashion, design, craft, and art. They've been accepted into the permanent collection of The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This is reflected in the price: $224 at Branch
