Envirosax organic series: now even greener

envirosax_bamboo_B2.jpgEnvirosax alredy has a dazzling array of plastic-bag-busting shoppers to choose from, but for the true green, there's now an even more eco-friendly organic series featuring bags made from bamboo (left), linen and hemp.

Envirosax has been a huge hit in Australia, where the company was founded by Belinda and Mark David-Tooz, who live an impressively green lifestyle, complete with solar hot water and photovoltaic cells for electricity. They are about to launch a UK version of their main website where you'll be able to buy direct, but at present, Envirosax area available at Oliver Bonas, Mojo London and Ebags.

These bags were never green to begin with. The new "organic" line sounds like a bunch of greenwashing. Not a single one is organic (even with organic written across the front). And please people, realize bamboo is not even close to eco friendly already.

This is interesting that bamboo is not organic. When reading about growing it, it seems to not really need much in terms or pesticides or fertilizer. It just kinda grows on it's own. And compared to growing industrial cotton, it's pretty eco-friendly. But sometimes it can be a case of thinking the better solution is going with whatever is the least horrible which can be a problem in itself.

It'd be nice to see some facts backed up here, otherwise certain comments would just sound slanderous. Furthermore, I would love to be further educated on this. I've been reading up on these things for a while, but not too thoroughly I'm afraid.
