As anyone who's ever been a child will know, headlice (or 'nits') are a fact of life that will never go away, probably.
You'll also remember just how vile and pungent that ointment used to treat the problem was. I know I hated it -- which is why I've decided to share with you a remedy you can make yourself for treating headlice. So if you have children and don't want to subject them to those chemical fumes next time the nit nurse comes a-calling, I'm told that this home made cure from Little Green Blog really does work. Here's what you'll need:
Home headlice treatment:
10 mls of neem oil
90 mls of sesame oil
20 drops each of rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus, lemon, bergamot and geranium essential oils.
Follow the jump for instructions on how to use.
After combing out any visible lice and eggs from the child's hair, apply the mixed ingredients. For a child younger than 5, or with sensitive skin, halve the drops of essential oils (although it will still be milder than the organophosphates used in over-the-counter treatments).
Comb the mixture through the childs hair, and leave it on overnight -- they can sleep with hair in a towel if it's more comfortable. Then shampoo as normal the following day for healthy, nit-free hair!

Hi :)
Just wanted to say hello to you - it was very exciting to see our blog mentioned on your gorgeous site; especially as I check in here every day as one of my favourite bookmarks!
Yes, I can assure you, this headlice recipe really does work.
You have nothing to lose (apart from headlice!) and a glossy, shiny, healthy head of hair to gain.
In fact, you can use this as a lovely oil treatment for dry hair anyway but halving or quartering the essential oils!
Neem and sesame oil are two of nature's most wonderful oils :)
Enjoy!
