Crocs are so 2007 (and not to mention ugly, potentially dangerous and not very green!) But if you've really got the plastic shoe 'vibe', don't dispair: a greener, sleeker alternative from Brazilian label Melissa is going to be big next year.
Melissa shoes and boots, which are made from recycled plastic, are available in the UK at Urban Outfitters (and are currently in the sale!), and a wider range is online, here. The ultra-lightweight footwear apparently smell 'good enough to eat - a bit like bubblegum'. Sounds fab to me, but buy a pair now, they may be keeping your summer clothing company in the wardrobe for some time.
