Beko is not a brand I'd heard of before, but it's definitely a name to watch in the energy-efficient white goods sector.
Its latest offering is a nifty little machine that will wash your laundry in 14 minutes flat; a dream come true for many of us used to waiting up to an hour for clean clothes. The A++-rated machine has already picked up an eco-award for its energy efficiency, and is very reasonably priced at £349.
What makes it a green machine? The sheer quickness of its wash cycle means a lot less energy is consumed, while a unique electronic water control system calculates the exact amount of water required according to the type and quantity of the laundry. I now have a Beko-shaped space vacant in my fantasy eco home...

that's great. it looks and sounds fabulous!
but... does it actually get stuff properly clean in such a short amount of washing time? if it does, it's definitely on my shopping list too
I would love to get that, that'd be soo nifty. Except I'd have to wait a while for it to be available in Canada any bet.
The machine is great but the short cycle is only meant for a couple of items, when I run the machine on a full cycle to get a good result it needs the standard cycle which is about 90 minutes.
A word of warning on the life expectancy of a Beko. I was told by an expert that Beko and some other machine brands are only built to last for 3 years or so (I was told Indecit only 2 years).
We bought a beko because of its energy and water efficiency. It broke down last week (after less than 3 years) and when I tried to get it repaired noone could do it. If you have to throw them away every 3 years its very bad for the environment
This time round we are splashing out on something more expensive but hopefully it will be cheaper in the long run as it will last longer
Apparently if you get a make like Hoover, Siemens, Candy or Bosch its easier to get the repair parts, so lengthening its life even more.
