Wash away water polllution worries with Lush
I noticed that Kiss and Makeup were recommending Lush snow fairy as a perfect last minute gift idea the other day, and thought I'd second that, with a few added notes on why it's great for more reasons than just being pink and smelling lovely.
This week, Lush has responded to some hair-raising news that shampoos and other wash products pose a serious threat to our health, when they return to the water system. Lush agreed with many of the points raised by the Royal Society of Chemistry, which included concerns over two particular chemical nasties: triclosan - an anti-bacterial agent, and phthalates, a family of some 120 industrial chemicals used in shampoos, moisturisers and perfumes. Lush don’t use any of these chemicals - only fresh and natural ingredients, along with minimal synthetics that have a safe history of use. So by choosing little bottles of Lush products to pad out your Christmas stockings, you know you won't be contributing to this scary chemical splash.
