Sony's Twirl 'N Take camera prototype generates its own electricity
The people of Japan aren't just lucky because, well, they live in Japan, they're lucky this time 'round for having access to the 2007 Eco Style Fair.
Shown off at the expo was a prototype for a camera from Sony, dubbed the Twirl 'N Take, and part of their Odo eco-friendly range. These products will never make it to the production line of course, but they're novel ideas at offering alternatives to the power-zapping digital cameras most of us use.
15 seconds of movement on the pizza cutter-shaped gadget's wheel generates enough power for one photo. Let's hope if they ever do commercialise the camera, they'll improve on the snaps-per-twirl ratio!
