Fabulous Joanna Lumley has teamed up with Recycle Now to help make the Christmas season a bit less wasteful than it could be. A mean feat when you think of how much paper, food and often even presents we chuck away, but I'm sure the former New Avengers star is up to the challenge!
Recylce Now's goal for 2007/08 is to recycle 100 million of the over 1 billion Christmas cards we will write this December. As well as the latest celeb-backed campaign. there's an excellent quick list of Christmas recycling tips on the site, which will tell you what to do with your Christmas dinner leftovers, wrapping paper, cards and more in order to make it the greenest Chrismas ever.
Joanna Lumley said of the campaign: “Christmas is a great time for celebrations and being with our families, but we do end up creating more waste. A simple way to help reduce this and help climate change at the same time is to recycle as much as possible and Christmas cards are one of the easiest items to keep out of our bins."
