Power up greenly with Uniross Hybrio Mini Charger

hybrio.jpgRe-charging batteries is obviously far greener than using 'em up and chucking 'em away, and Shiny Shiny's Zara has been testing the latest charger from Uniross. 'Batteries may not be the most fascinating things', she writes, 'but they are undeniably necessary. Just think of how many you unwittingly use on a day-to-day basis: camera's, TV remotes, your vibrator...

Now the initial outlay may not seem that much but over time the costs really mount up (and we haven't even started on the damage to the environment yet). The Hybrio rechargeable batteries from Uniross are long lasting, economical alternatives to regular batteries, and they even come with their own charger! Forget any notions you may have had about battery chargers being pricey, as the Hybrio mini kit, which comprises of two AA batteries and charger is only £7.99.

Whilst these batteries are meant for everyday household items, I used mine in my camera and it worked for about a week! You can get the high performance range, which is a little pricier but works better on power hungry devices, but the little kit worked a treat too. Your carbon footprint will thank you as the Hybrio provides 30g of waste, after its estimated 500 charges, whilst the equivalent use of 500 batteries would come to 12.5 kg.
