LG Extends eco-friendly Steam Direct Drive range

lg_washing_machines.JPGKorean gadget-giant LG continues to 'steam ahead' with its innovative green gadgets, having just extended its Steam Direct washing machine range. The A++ energy-rated machines use steam instead of water to clean clothes, resulting in a 35% water saving and 21% energy saving.

LG has now brought in three new Steam Direct Drive models. The design-focussed machines aim to broaden the range of price points, making some of LG's home tech more affordable, while remaining much more climate-friendly than most.

LG’s new Steam Direct Drive range is available now, with prices ranging from £599 and £799. All three models are available in white and silver, with the Premium Trim Kit design also available in black, cherry red, pink and light blue.

Frances Galvanoni at The Energy Saving Trust, says, “People are becoming increasingly aware of the effect of carbon emissions on the environment and are looking for new ways to reduce their own carbon footprint. There is now a wide range of beautiful appliances endorsed by the Energy Saving Recommended scheme, so all people have to do is look for the logo.” [Via Shiny Shiny]
