Disposable razors are part of daily life for many of us, and as you might imagine, this is not a particularly green habit. The implications of all that plastic being sent to landfill - not to mention the danger of throwing out sharp blades - are fairly obvious. So other than embracing our body hair, what can be done?
One answer is using recycled, recyclable razors and disposing of them responsibly. Preserve is one company that will help you do that, and has a great range of razors, toothbrushes and other bathroom essentials, all made from recycled materials. Much of the plastic they use comes from a deal they've made with Stonyfield Farm yoghurts, who send Preserve their old pots. Although Preserve is an American company, you can buy their products here in the UK, and razors are available at Nigel's Eco Store at £5.59 for a 4-pack.
