If you're a budding fashionista and want to keep it ethical, Daisy Mae the sheep (don't ask) wants to tell you about a good opportunity to get on to that crucial first rung. Some of the UK's hottest eco fashion labels have clubbed together to give young people (which, in this case means those aged 18-30) the chance to develop a brand new ethical fashion line for an existing, successful business. Taking part are Ciel, Enamore and Junky, who along with six others will act as judges and mentors.

Opening for entries today, Make Your Mark in Fashion will challenge you to tackle every aspect of a successful collection, from creative design and manufacture through to retail. Follow the jump for details of the labels taking part and how to enter.

The nine businesses that will act as judges and mentors are:

• Ciel - the new hip & luxurious label from Sarah Ratty that attracts an A-list following including Cate Blanchett & Sienna Miller.

• Enamore ? Set up by Jennifer Ambrose when she was only 25, producing beautiful and quirky womenswear and lingerie.

• From Somewhere - Elegant and eccentric reclaimed-to-wear, using recycled fabrics including cashmere, silk, cotton, jersey and tweed.

• Junky Styling - London's very own 'Recycling Pioneers?, transforming reclaimed garments into chic, elegant, sought after fashion.

• Juste - preserving the fine traditions and culture of crafts people across the world.

• Liv - Run by the people behind Dr Hauschka, Liv use organic cotton from Calcutta to produce a range of womenswear, accessories and lingerie.

• Makepiece - based in the Pennines it produces beautiful knitwear whilst their own sheep graze in fields around them.

• Terra Plana - uses eco-friendly materials to make stylish footwear using the latest technology and sustainable principles.

• The Hemp Trading Company - A hip-hop streetwear label started to increase knowledge of hemp as clothing and popularise eco fashion amongst youth.

Call for entries to the competition will open on 25th October 2007 and interested teams will have until 31st January 2008 to submit their entry via the website. The competition?s full brief and case studies of each of the partner labels will be available on the website from the 25th October
