Jeans for genes day. Are you wearing yours?
This is just a quick reminder that it's Jeans for Genes day today, a fact that many seem to have overlooked, as I can't see so much as a square inch of denim in this office! So, if you've forgotten too, there's still time to don your denim for the very good cause of research into genetic disorders.
The twelfth Jeans for Genes Day aims to raise around £3million which will be spent on research into the causes, treatments and cures for genetic disorders in children as well as specialist nurses, respite care, information and holidays for families who are affected by inherited conditions. A genetic disorder can range from something easy to treat like a squint or a cleft lip to more challenging inherited conditions such as haemophilia, sickle cell and deafness. So, whether or not you've dressed down today, you can still donate online to this very worthwhile cause.
