Organic fortnight is now upon us, and between now and the 16th September, we'll be celebrating all things organic with a series of posts, each focusing on a different reason why it's best to buy organic, and also putting these claims under the microscope! We kick off today with number one on the Soil Association's list: Organic tastes better. I genuinely prefer some organic produce, particularly vegetables, which usually taste more flavoursome, while I can't taste the difference between normal and organic milk (even though I prefer to drink organic). But what do you think? I did a quick straw-poll of the Shiny Media staff to see whether they prefer the taste of organic. Follow the jump for their verdict!
Gemma of Catwalk Queen: Organic as in grown in my mate's garden and straight from the ground to my fork is best - that's the only way I'll ever eat new potatoes or corguettes 'casue supermarket ones are rubbish. Organic or not, once it's travelled miles in a box it's rubbish. Organic eggs are definitely better.
Kat of Tech Digest: I never notice a difference. To be honest, organic fruit and veg tends to look so scuzzy in comparison to normal fruit and veg - still buy organic fruit and veg though, but never notice a difference.
Alex of Shiny Shiny: Organic milk tastes better. It's generally creamier, although i might fail if blindfolded. The rest, I probably couldn't tell.
Zara of Star Trip: I've never noticed a difference. Organic's more expensive though.
Stuart, our production guy: I don't think i could notice the diff - I just shovel it all in! (You philistine!)
