TVonics introduce their newer eco-friendly digital video recorder, the DVR-FP250. It’s the big brother of the DVR-150 and its power consumption in standby mode is just 3.5 watts, in comparison to an industry average of 11 watts. It's similarly low in operation and is just about to get approval from the Energy Saving Trust, which will make it the only DVR on the market to have this certification. In addition the DVR-FP250 is made from recyclable aluminium.

The DVR-FP250 was the first DVR to receive Freeview Playback accreditation meaning that if nature calls during your favourite programme, you can pause live TV action and play it back, not having to miss a second. The box will also automatically adjust the programme recording time to match any changes in schedule caused by breaking news items or over-running sports events. It’s able to record 125 hours of television from over 40 free digital TV channels and is plugged straight into any existing analogue, LCD, plasma TV or projector.
