(Non-Global) Warming to keep you cozy all winter from Kalirel

Thanks for this informative video. I'm about to install central heating in my house and didn't realise that this was an option. Like you, I dislike storage heaters so was looking at gas fired boiler and central heating. But then how do I heat my water? We currently have a very outdated (and energy draining, I'm sure) immersion heater that we are planning to replace soon. Would an electric boiler fare better, or are there any other clever water heating devices on the market (apart from Solar)?

Hi Nikki,

We had that exact same problem. Luckily, we had the decision made for us when our old immersion heater seized up on us and we had to replace it with a far more efficient new water heater (with much better insulation etc). This doesn't actually use much energy now, and thanks to our water saving shower head (http://www.hippyshopper.com/2007/08/video_reviews_o.html) we can get a lot more hot showers out of one tank of hot water. Our electricity bill is a lot lower than it used to be, and we haven't had to install less sustainable gas heating and boiler.
