Clean Up the World is a team of volunteers that stretches across the globe to take direct action at a community level for environmental change. It is run in partnership with the United Nations Environmental Programme and you can join in by joining a local group or starting your own! Membership is free for non-corporate members and includes a membership kit for publicising your cause and helping attract members for your group.
Activities include tree-planting, education, water conservation projects and awareness-raising, as well as, of course, the Clean Up the World Weekend. This year, it will be held on the weekend of 14th-16th September so there’s still time to get involved and organise a cleaning up event in your town. The event is now in its 15th year and, including over 35 million people from 120 countries, is one of the biggest international environmental events of its kind.
