Go car free with walkit.com on World Carfree Day: September 22
This Saturday is World Carfree Day, so if you've got plans to be out and about, why not consider plotting a walking route instead of taking the car?
Walkit.com is a great place to start if you want to plan a journey on foot, and are lucky enough to live in one of the cities it covers. This has recently been widened from just London to Birmingham and Edinburgh, and since the site has only just celebrated its first birthday, this isn't bad going. In this first year, the walkit.com team has calculated that if every route generated during our first year of operation had been walked at a medium pace, the site's visitors would have burnt off over 13 tonnes of chocolate cake and walked 32 times round the earth! Just think of how much potential C02 this has already spared the atmosphere?
