Oxygenating (or 'aerating') shower heads are said to reduce the amount of water your shower uses, without hindering its performance. In our video review, Katie Lee puts an Oxygenics aerating shower to the test, direct from her bathroom: this one is available at £59 from Natural Collection.
I've just bought a shower head like the one reviewed to replace the water guzzling one currently and actually still in my bathroom, I say still because the oxygenating shower head is absolutely awful. I should point out that I lecture in respiratory medicine and I am fully conversent with the venturi principle being utilised - this sytem should work but it doesn't. I have honestly created more venturi effect standing under a bin bag full of water with a hole stabbed in it with a pencil. I feel truly disappointed my home is as energy efficient as I can make it but I will have to stick with the old shower.

Hi Jon,
I'm sorry to hear that! I do agree that it doesn't feel like you're getting quite as much water pressure as most of us are used to, but I find the bubbles actually get into my hair as much as a really powerful water spray. But my shower was never that powerful anyway, and when I put the old one back on to see if it was better, I was just too aware of how much water was being wasted. I also found that I got used to it after a few weeks and now feel really happy with it.
Try a self-closing power showerhead -- works with low water preasure and gives a great shower. you can checkout the videos on this product at: http://itjustmakessense.net
