Vegetarian and Vegan living

Be a veggie missionary with Viva this September

veggie%20month.bmp

September will be Viva veggie month. The vegetarian campaign group intends to reach millions more people to take what they call the wonderful road of healthier, cruelty-free, environment-saving, people-protecting veggie living. The group, which campaigns to turn the nation veggie, wants to enlist fellow animal lovers to spread the veg, convince others to read their inspiring and shocking material and ultimately give up meat for good.

According to Viva’s statistics vegetarianism and veganism are fast growing in the UK. The latest survey showed that around six million people in the UK now call themselves vegetarian and there are now 10 times as many vegans as there were a decade ago. Government figures show that around 23 million fewer poultry were killed in the UK last year, and the number of pigs being killed is at its lowest level since 1973. So if you fancy making a difference have a look on Viva’s website and become a veggie missionary. You could man a Viva stall, give out leaflets to family, friends and your local community or invite your friends around for a veggie dinner party.
