Since our recent post on green things to do with lemons proved so popular, I've been looking out for more ways to use natural ingredients for everyday chores. And once again, the wisdom of the green community came up trumps.
This simple recipe for all-purpose green cleaner appeared in the Epoch Times recently, and it's by green cleaning expert Reenie Rogers. All you'll need is some water (preferably distilled or filtered, especially if you live in a hard water area), white vinegar, lemongrass essential oil (or peppermint, lemon or lime if you prefer) some earth-friendly washing up liquid, and a bottle to put it all in. This recipe makes 32oz - follow the jump for instructions.
1. Fill bottle half-way with water.
2. Add white distilled vinegar near the top, leaving room for shaking.
3. Add 10–14+ drops lemongrass or other essential oil.
4. Add 2–3 drops dishwashing liquid.
5. Cap and shake. There should be a thin line of foamy bubbles at top, but not too many.
6. Label container.
Uses: Cleans windows, mirrors, floors, chrome, door handles, and some carpet and cloth upholstery stains. Test first! Use as a rinse after using baking soda to clean the outside of a toilet.

Sounds like a good recipe to try.
