With a limited supply of freshwater on board ships and submarines, seamen have over the years developed the "navy shower" to have an effective wash while saving water. As we all become more conscious of water saving in everyday life, should we all try a navy shower? Here's how to have one...

For a Navy shower, start by turning on the water and immediately wetting the entire body and turning off the water. Soap up and wash before turning on the water again for a quick rinse. The Navy shower is a great trick for time-pressed commuters as well, it only takes around two minutes. In contrast there's what the US Navy have dubbed the Hollywood shower: a long luxurious shower with no limits on water usage. Hollywood showers are an occasional treat or reward for Navy personnel.

Take a look at my version of "A Better Navy Shower" something I created myself... never thought I'd be in a video on the internet! But I think it's a great gadge. Really saves on our utilities.
