Spain Told: Turn Down Air Conditioning
Spain is urging people to turn down their air conditioning in the summer heat to try to save energy. Radio and television ads will be used in the Industry Ministry campaign featuring the slogan: "Twenty four degrees (Celsius) is sufficient".
Energy Secretary Ignasi Nieto believes that energy saving measures should reduce emissions by 240 million tons of CO2. The campaign is especially important as Spain is keen to counteract the50% increase in Spain's greenhouse gas emissions since 1990.
