Hilary Benn is the first vegetarian minister for the countryside and today is the day when he has to face livestock farmers for the first time at the Royal Show. The minister, well-known for his staunch views on animal welfare will be put to the test as he discusses the issues of TB in cattle and badgers. Can he win the respect of the farmers while keeping to his principles? It remains to be seen.
