De-pollute your commute with Stony

stonycart4.jpgSince Stony Organic Yoghurts came to the UK with their catchy ‘Stony, Yogurt on a mission’ moniker, they have been living up to their name with initiatives aimed at reducing our impact on climate change. The latest of these is the ‘De-pollute your commute’ initiative to raise environmental awareness amongst car drivers. Did you know that the average car driven for 12,000 miles creates 3.5 tonnes of carbon emissions, and a 4x4 creates 5.8 tonnes? I know cars are vital for certain journeys, but for short trips cycling or walking are much better, both for you and the planet.

Stony have cleverly renovated a 19th century French carriage chassis using ethically sourced sustainable timber and organic paints. The new incarnation of this classic carriage is as a yoghurt carton shaped people carrier with space for a fridge and a laptop, all solar powered of course!

Powered by Clarkson the horse, the carriage will gently transport members of the public to work in London (July 23-25), Birmingham (July 30-August 1) and Manchester (August 13-15). If the trial proves successful, Stony will extend the serviced with extra carriages. You can book your place on the carriage by going on the Stony website www.depolluteyourcommute.com
